Why do we do the things we do? We know full well that the real way to win is to do things right. Sure we get by once in a while. We laugh and say “Boy, I got lucky on that one”, also realizing that so seldom does ‘getting by’ really give us the same sense of satisfaction that we receive from when we did it right…
For all you devoted fans that watched the 09’ NFR, how often did we see the world’s best take a chance and come away out of the money? They knew what they did the moment they did it. They hoped maybe, just this one time, they would get by. Why do we do the things we do?
Does God hear all prayers?
2 Chronicles 7:4
“If my people , who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven…” NIV
That is a pretty explicit set of instructions. ‘Humble ourselves’; be pure in thought, have no judgments of others hidden in our heart when we pray to the Lord. When we pray, be sincere in seeking the Lord.
Psalm 66:18
“If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened;” NIV
There are no short cuts with the Lord, Does God hear all prayers?
Proverbs 1:28
“Then they will call to me but I will not answer, they will look for me diligently, but will not find me .NIV
